COST ENGINEER – TAGAYTAY

JOB SUMMARY

The Cost Engineer is responsible for estimating, analyzing and managing cost related to construction project. This role involves budgeting, cost forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of a project, from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and close-out.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost Estimation

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates during the various stages of project development (conceptual, preliminary, and final)
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project plans to determine material, labor and equipment costs.

Budget Management

  • Develop and monitor project budgets and ensure that costs are controlled in line with approved budgets.
  • Track budget changes and update forecasts accordingly.

Cost Control

  • Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures.
  • Monitor actual expenditures against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

Procurement Support

  • Assists in the preparation of tender and bid documents.
  • Review contractor and supplier quotes and negotiate costs when necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

2. Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in building construction, specifically in estimate and cost.

3. Technical Competencies (“Know-how”)

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g. CostX, Candy, Sage, Primavera, MS Excel)

4. Behavioral Competencies (“Traits”)

  • Excellent communications and organizational abilities.
