SAFETY OFFICER – LAGUNA

JOB SUMMARY

The Safety Officer III is responsible for overseeing and enforcing compliance with occupational health and safety standards on a general construction site. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety policies, leading safety audits and inspections, and ensuring that all site operations are conducted in a safe and legally compliant manner.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the implementation of the project’s Construction Safety and Health Program (CSHP).
  • Ensure compliance with DOLEOSH, and other applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate with Safety Officers I and II, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Conduct and document daily site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Lead safety toolbox meetings, orientations, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Liaise with site management, contractors, and government bodies on safety-related concerns.
  • Maintain and submit all required safety documentation and permits.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its availability.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and first aid implementation on site.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Safety Officer III.
  • Preferably with COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) training.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a safety officer in general construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of RA 11058 and DO 198-18 (Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Law).
  • With additional 40 hours safety training related to construction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an advantage.
